Second Coming
The Rapture
The word doesn't appear once in Scripture — and neither does the idea
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
Millions of believers are waiting to vanish. But the 'rapture' as a distinct, secret event was unknown to the church for 1,800 years — and the Bible doesn't teach it.
Verdict
The rapture as a secret, pre-tribulation event has no biblical basis. It is a nineteenth-century invention with no support in church history before 1830.
✦ Christ at the Centre
The Second Coming is the grand climax of Scripture — the moment when everything Christ purchased on the cross is fully realised. Not a whisper, but a shout. Not a vanishing, but a resurrection. The same Jesus who bled openly on a Roman cross will return openly in the clouds. That is the hope.
